Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at 352-776-8350 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We are Licensed Electrical Contractors (EC13014521). We are fully insured and can provide proof of insurance upon request.

It is recommended to have your solar panels cleaned once a year. In rare cases, it may be necessary to clean them more often depending on your location and the amount of dirt and debris that accumulates.

Aside from the aesthetic benefits, dirty panels produce less energy. A yearly cleaning is preventative maintenance to keep your investment running at peak performance. Allowing a system to get multiple years of grime can cause a noticeable drop in production until that grime is removed.

No. High pressure water can and will damage solar panels. High pressure water is not recommended by any major manufacturer and will void any warranty they offer. We occasionally use high pressure water to remove debris from the underside of the panels, but we will not do anything that could potentially damage any of your equipment.

Harsh chemicals (chlorine, ammonia) cannot be used on solar panels. These chemicals will damage the solar panels and void the warranty on the product. Dave's tries to only use plain water and a soft brush. When solar panels are too dirty for plain water, we use an ammonia free glass cleaner.

That is an impossible question to answer. There many factors to consider. The quality of the equipment used is important and the quality of the installation plays a huge factor. Most systems will require a small repair here and there every couple of years. Some systems will be more often.

The most common issue that we find is wireless communication. We solve this by hard wiring your system directly to the router. This is generally a permanent fix to this problem. Other common problems are down micro-inverters, down optimizers, and bad connections in the solar array.
